Semblable aux macrophages d\u00e9riv\u00e9s des monocytes du sang p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique, la microglie maintient l\u2019hom\u00e9ostasie tissulaire en \u00e9liminant les agents pathog\u00e8nes, les d\u00e9bris cellulaires\u00a0 et les prot\u00e9ines aberrantes du parenchyme c\u00e9r\u00e9bral. \u00a0\u00a0Elle joue \u00e9galement un r\u00f4le dans le d\u00e9veloppement du cerveau et divers troubles neurologiques et neurod\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratifs (Orihuela et al. Br j Pharmacol. 2016). En r\u00e9ponse au changement d\u2019environnement, les microglies modifient\u00a0 leur ph\u00e9notype, un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne appel\u00e9 activation microgliale. Parmi une gamme de ph\u00e9notypes associ\u00e9s \u00e0 des fonctions, les microglies activ\u00e9es sont divis\u00e9es en deux sous-types principaux. Ainsi,le ph\u00e9notype classique \u00ab\u00a0M1\u00a0\u00bb est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par une activit\u00e9 pro-inflammatoire due \u00e0 la lib\u00e9ration de facteurs pro-inflammatoires (IL-6, IL1b, TNF-\u03b1) provoque des r\u00e9ponses neuroinflammatoires. A l\u2019inverse, le ph\u00e9notype alternatif \u00ab\u00a0M2\u00a0\u00bb caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par une activit\u00e9 anti-inflammatoire bas\u00e9e sur la lib\u00e9ration de facteurs anti-inflammatoires (IL-10, TGF-\u03b2, IGF-1) joue un r\u00f4le dans la neuroprotection (Lijuan Zhang et al. Front cell neurosci, 2018).<\/p><p>Dans le cadre de l\u2019hypoxie-Isch\u00e9mie n\u00e9onatale, les microglies au repos, se multiplient et modifient leur ph\u00e9notype en M1. Les cellules microgliales de ph\u00e9notype M1 produisent au site de l\u00e9sion des cytokines, des chimiokines, des esp\u00e8ces r\u00e9actives \u00e0 l\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne (ROS) et des m\u00e9talloprot\u00e9ases matricielles qui vont induire la mort neuronale .
